Exemption ONA exam if you have a job

If you have a job, you may not have to do the Orientation on the Dutch Labour Market (ONA) exam. This is called an exemption. The government site Rijksoverheid.nl said these new rules would take effect from April 1, 2019. However, this has been postponed.

Applying is possible

You can still apply for the exemption from 1 April, 2019. The form (in Dutch) can be found below. These are the conditions:
• You are a salaried worker. This means you receive wages from an employer.
• We will look at the 12 months before your application. During at least 6 of these months you must have worked at least 48 hours a month.
The new rules are not yet final. They can still change. As soon as the rules are finalised, we will send you a message.
