Conditions
You will only get extra time if you meet these conditions:
- You are an asylum status holder, a family migrant, or an other migrant.
- You have only the Speaking or Writing exam at level A2 left to pass, or both.
- Your integration period is about to end.
Letter from DUO
If you meet the conditions, DUO will send you a letter. The letter says if you get extra time, and how much. The letter is tailored to your situation, so outcomes may differ.
If you did not receive a letter, you won’t get extra time for the Speaking exam at level A2 or the Writing exam at level A2.
Speaking exam B1
In December 2025 we wrote about the possibility to get extra time for passing the Speaking exam at level B1. This is still the case. There are conditions for getting extra time. These are the same conditions as for the Speaking exam level A2 and writing examen level A2.
