Changes to the exam for Orientation on the Dutch Labour Market (ONA)

The rules for the Orientation on the Dutch Labour Market exam have changed.

2 ways to take the ONA exam

  1. Digital portfolio plus 64 hours of lessons at a school with a ‘Blik op Werk’ quality mark

You prepare a digital portfolio in Mijn Inburgering. You send your portfolio to DUO via Mijn Inburgering. DUO assesses your portfolio. If your portfolio is approved, and if you can demonstrate that you have attended 64 hours of lessons at a school with a ‘Blik op Werk’ quality mark, you will pass the examination for Orientation on the Dutch Labour Market.

  2. Portfolio plus final interview

You prepare a portfolio. You send your portfolio to DUO. DUO assesses your portfolio. If your portfolio is approved, you can attend the final interview. If you pass the final interview, you will pass the examination for Orientation on the Dutch Labour market.

Check

You need to fill out your result cards yourself. You can’t copy from somebody else. DUO checks if your portfolio is the same as somebody else’s. This is called ‘plagiarism’. Plagiarism is not allowed. If this is the case, DUO will reject your portfolio. You will have to send your portfolio again. You will also have to pay again.
